Global Diversity - Adjunct Faculty

We offer the region’s most expansive selection of degree, certificate and workplace certification programs at 3 campuses plus 3 convenient CCBC centers along with off-site community locations.</p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.5in;"><span style="color: inherit;">The College is seeking </span><span style="color: inherit;">adjunct faculty to teach day and evening classes in global diversity related disciplines including but not limited to Africana Studies, Global Studies, and Women and Gender Studies. </span></p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.5in;"><span style="color: inherit;">Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to student learning. Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching and those who through education and experience demonstrate the ability to teach across multiple diversity related disciplines. </span></p><br><span style="color: inherit;">Pay Level: $1,085 per credit hour</span><br><br><span style="color: inherit;">Campus Locations: Essex, Dundalk, Catonsville, & Owings Mills</span></dd>
<dt><h2>Minimum Requirements</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><ul style="margin-left: 0.25in; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Master’s degree in International/Global Studies, Gender Studies, Africana Studies, Ethnic Studies or a related field. </li><li><span style="color: inherit">Two years teaching experience in</span><span style="color: inherit"> global diversity or a related field.</span></li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li></ul></dd>
<dt><h2>Class Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Prepare and deliver course instruction, follow common course outlines and policies, utilize the CCBC learning management system, grade, critique, and evaluate student work, provide timely feedback to students, keep and submit accurate classroom records, communicate with the discipline coordinator, attend required training sessions, and attend professional development and departmental meetings.</li><li><span style="color: inherit">Mentor students and contribute to the success of the social sciences</span><span style="color: inherit"> program.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Support the community college philosophy through commitment to success of students with diverse goals, backgrounds and learning styles.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Commitment to the mission of the community college.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Maintain currency in field(s) through professional development and scholarly activities</span>.</li><li><span style="color: inherit">Perform related duties as required.</span></li></ul></dd>
